12×12 White China Silk – Cineview Studios

  • Designed to fit directly onto a 12x12 Frame
  • Light loss 1.0 stop
Also known as "Rags" these are the materials that are tied to the Butterfly/Overhead frame. For many years, only the basic materials were used such as scrims to reduce light, silk to diffuse light and solid to eliminate light. More recently many new materials have been added to allow many degrees of diffusion (Grid Cloths, Black Silks, etc.) plus many new reflective materials are now available to make large reflectors for both sunlight and artificial light such as Matthflectors, Grifflectors and Lames.

12×12 Full Silk – Cineview Studios

Great diffuser in wide width which allows the least possible seams. This man-made fabric is denser and softens and spreads the light more than the White China Silk.

Broncolor Diffuser 2 for Broncolor Para 177 – Cineview Studios

Broncolor Diffuser 2 makes the light denser than number 1. The light becomes softer and more homogeneous but also a little less sculptural. Direct reflections in eyes or on similar surfaces appear as almost homogeneous white areas, and the additional scattered light in the studio reduces contrast. Unlike with number 3, however, some of the light can still pass through the diffuser without scattering, the light characteristics are retained to a somewhat lesser extent.
