A SESSION BUILT AROUND THE ARTIST

Let the performance
carry the film.

Start with the number of performers, instruments and tracks you want to capture. Then plan the background, lighting and camera positions around the session rather than interrupting the performance for every angle.

Allow time for rehearsals, framing tests and complete takes. Your crew can decide which moments need a wide master, a performer close-up or a detail of the playing.

SOUND AND PICTURE

Agree the recording plan.
Before booking the space.

Live audio.

Tell us what you need to record and how you will capture it. Bring your sound team’s requirements and arrange a viewing and sound test before committing to sound-critical work.

Playback performance.

If the film uses a pre-recorded track, plan playback, sync references and the repeatable sections your editor needs. Confirm playback levels and equipment requirements with the studio.

Camera coverage.

For multiple cameras, agree sightlines, lens choices and operator positions. Check that lighting stands and cables remain clear of movement and every planned frame.

Studio hire does not automatically include sound recording, mixing, camera operators or a livestream service. Agree any equipment and support separately. Do not assume acoustic isolation.
KEEP THE SESSION MOVING

Protect the takes.
Plan the day.

01. Share the set list.

Include track lengths, performer and crew numbers, instruments, playback or live-audio needs, and the final deliverables. Mention any special power or staging requirements.

02. Rehearse the setup.

Include load-in, instrument setup, pre-light, sound and camera tests in the booking. Allow enough time to make adjustments before the first recorded take.

03. Leave room for pickups.

Schedule breaks, repeat takes, instrument details, alternative openings and pack-down. If several tracks share a setup, keep a continuity record as you move between them.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Performance filming.
Your questions answered.

Can we film a live music session?

Share the performer count, instruments, sound requirements and planned camera setup. Arrange a viewing and sound test to confirm suitability for your recording before booking.

Are sound recording and filming included?

This page is for studio hire. Recording, camera crews, editing, mixing and streaming are not automatically included. Discuss any equipment or support you need separately.

Can we use multiple cameras?

Plan the positions, camera paths, lighting and performer area together. Send your setup requirements and check the floor plan before deciding on the coverage.

Can we bring our own instruments and kit?

Yes. There is no additional charge simply for bringing your own equipment. Share load-in, power and setup requirements in advance and allow for pack-down within the booking.

How do we secure our session date?

Send your preferred date, duration and production brief using the form below. Cineview will confirm availability and the agreed hire details. Full payment secures the booking.
