Export explained simply
What is “Export”?
Creating a finished delivery copy from an edited master with chosen size, format, quality and colour settings.
- 01Editable master
- 02Delivery settings
- 03Verified copy
How do you use Export practically?
A small exercise
Export a web copy and a print copy from one master. Name them clearly and reopen each to check dimensions and appearance.
- Make a starting version and keep it so you can compare fairly.
- Try the change in the exercise. Keep unrelated choices steady where the exercise allows.
- Compare the result at the size your viewer will actually see. Write down what changed and whether it helped.
How does Export solve a problem?
It prevents sending the wrong size or an unfinished editable file to a client or website.
What can go wrong?
Saving a project is not always exporting a usable image. Match the recipient’s requested specification.
How do you turn the idea into a useful solution?
Start with the specific problem in your image or brief, try the exercise, and keep the version that meets that need. If the result is worse, return to the starting version and change one choice at a time.
Quick check: can you explain the three ideas in the diagram?
Editable master → Delivery settings → Verified copy. Explain how each relates to the exercise. Then compare the starting version with your result and choose the one that meets your brief.
