Nikon’s new Z5IIC is approaching its UK release, with a compact, screen-first design aimed at photographers moving into full-frame and creators shooting both stills and video. Announced on 24 September 2026, it combines familiar Z-series technology with simpler controls. Here are the details worth checking before adding it to a shoot plan.

Full-frame photography with simpler controls

According to Nikon’s launch specifications, the Z5IIC pairs a 24.5-megapixel full-frame sensor with the EXPEED 7 processor. It has a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen and no built-in viewfinder, so composing on the rear screen is central to the experience.

Fifteen scene modes handle settings for subjects such as portraits, pets and food, while a dedicated button accesses Imaging Recipes. Photographers who prefer an eye-level viewfinder should factor its absence into their choice, especially for outdoor work. For low-angle compositions or presenter-led content, the articulating screen offers a different way to frame.

Video features and a practical studio consideration

Video options include 4K UHD at up to 60 fps and Full HD at up to 120 fps. The important qualification is that 4K/60p uses a DX, or APS-C-size, crop. That changes framing, so allow for it when choosing a lens for a small set or a wide establishing shot.

Nikon also lists 10-bit H.265 recording, N-Log and a Product Review Mode that shifts focus towards an item held near the camera. Those features could interest creators combining talking-head footage with close-up demonstrations.

For that kind of shoot, consistent lighting deserves as much planning as the camera. Cineview Studios offers studio lighting hire, including continuous lights and modifiers, so teams can plan a controlled setup around their own camera. Check equipment availability and the required package before booking.

UK release date, price and where to buy

As checked on 12 October 2026, Nikon UK’s official Z5IIC Silver store page lists the body at £1,349, available to pre-order with a planned shipping date of 15 October 2026. This is a scheduled dispatch date, not a delivery guarantee. Use that official listing to pre-order and confirm the latest price, kit options and availability.
