AstrHori 8mm F2.4 brings a 220° fisheye view to GFX and Hasselblad

AstrHori’s new MF 8mm F2.4 circular fisheye brings an unusually wide 220° view to Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X-system cameras. Japanese distributor E&I Creation announced its release on 16 October 2026, and both mounts are now listed in AstrHori’s official store.
A deliberately different perspective
This manual-focus lens produces a circular image with pronounced fisheye distortion. Its f/2.4 maximum aperture and 0.1m minimum focusing distance open up possibilities for exaggerated close-ups, environmental portraits and night-sky compositions.
The distributor cautions that peripheral colour casts, false colour and reduced edge definition can vary with the camera’s sensor. Those are worth checking in independent tests before buying; Cineview has not tested the lens.

For a stylised portrait session in a London photography studio, such a broad view makes checking the frame for light stands, crew and set edges especially important.
Release date and where to buy
Released on 16 October 2026, the lens is available to order in both mounts from AstrHori’s official international store, listed at US$359 on 18 October. The retailer ships internationally; UK buyers should check delivery charges and import taxes before ordering. UK-held stock and a firm UK delivery date are unconfirmed.
