DJI announced Dock 4 on 14 October 2026, pairing its new automated drone station with the Matrice 5TD. The headline change is a 25-second automatic battery swap, reducing the wait between flights without keeping the aircraft parked for a recharge.

Imaging built for inspection

The Matrice 5TD combines visible-light and infrared imaging, an 11× telephoto camera and laser ranging. DJI also lists radar, LiDAR and vision-based obstacle sensing, plus up to 59 minutes of flight time. These are manufacturer figures measured under controlled conditions, not Cineview test results.

Dock 4 is aimed at inspection, surveying and emergency-response work. For crews combining aerial footage with a London studio shoot, that enterprise focus matters when deciding whether this system fits the production brief. Cineview has not tested or added it to its hire equipment.

Release timing and UK ordering

Announced on 14 October, Dock 4 is offered through DJI Enterprise dealers. As checked on 19 October 2026, UK dealer Heliguy lists the Dock 4 and Matrice 5TD package as price on request.
