How to use your free worksheet
Step 1
Establish the problem
Identify the character, goal, obstacle and incident that starts the story moving.
Step 2
Develop the consequences
Write the major reversals and decisions. Keep the stakes clear as the character adapts.
Step 3
Earn the resolution
Plan the decisive action and its outcome. Check that earlier scenes prepare the ending without making every beat predictable.

Act 1 — Setup
The scientists visit the park and encounter its extraordinary promise.
Try it in your story: Who is the story about, what do they want, and what draws them into the main problem?
Act 2 — Confrontation
The park fails. The scattered visitors struggle to survive and reunite.
Try it in your story: How does the problem escalate, and what must the characters change or attempt?
Act 3 — Resolution
The group faces the raptors, survives and leaves the island.

Yes. Adapt the number of beats and the space you give each stage to your film. You do not need to copy feature-length page counts.

Yes. Download the Word file and open the .docx document in Apple Pages. The download is a Word document, rather than a native .pages file.
Does this structure guarantee a successful story?
No. Use it to test choices, consequences and character change. You can combine or depart from models when your story requires it.
