Sigma FP2 brings 6K OpenGate to a compact full-frame body

Sigma has announced the FP2, a compact full-frame L-mount camera aimed at both stills and filmmaking. Revealed on 23 October 2026, it adds a 24.5-megapixel partially stacked sensor, a tilting screen and 6K OpenGate recording to the fp family’s modular approach.

One capture, several frame shapes

OpenGate uses the full sensor area, giving editors room to prepare different aspect ratios from one take. For agency teams planning landscape films and vertical cutdowns at our London film studio, that is a useful workflow to consider, though framing for every deliverable still needs planning.

The FP2 also offers ProRes RAW, Leica L-Log and separate Still/Cine interfaces. A 70GB internal drive supplements the SD card slot, while the LCD tilts 90° upwards and 45° downwards. An external EVF-21 viewfinder is optional, rather than built into the body.
