Insta360 Mic adds removable 32-bit float audio backup

Insta360 has launched Insta360 Mic, a wireless microphone sitting between Mic Air and Mic Pro. Announced on 22 October 2026, it combines a customisable E-Ink display with removable storage for an on-transmitter audio backup.
A microSD backup alongside the camera recording
Insert a microSD card to enable internal recording, including 32-bit float audio. Without a card, recording through Bluetooth or the receiver remains available, but there is no local card backup. Insta360 also lists AI noise reduction, automatic gain control and three voice presets; these are manufacturer features, not findings from our own test.
One receiver supports up to four transmitters, including a mixture of Mic and Mic Pro units. Selected Insta360 cameras can receive audio directly over Bluetooth. Other camera and phone setups use the receiver with USB-C or a 3.5mm connection, so check your intended combination before buying.

What matters on a production day
The removable backup could be useful for multi-person interviews and branded content. For teams planning interview and corporate-video studio shoots, test placement, clothing noise, camera inputs and backup recording before talent arrives. A 32-bit float file does not remove the need to monitor sound or control unwanted noise.
UK price and availability
The official UK store lists the Mic transmitter at £75, the one-transmitter/receiver kit at £129 and the two-transmitter/receiver kit at £229, including a charging case in the latter. Choose the Mic edition: the shared page also sells Mic Pro. Insta360 states global availability from 22 October; the selected UK transmitter currently shows “Normally ships within 2 days”. That is a dispatch estimate, not guaranteed delivery. Prices and dispatch status checked 26 October 2026.
