Fujifilm instax SQUARE 2 reaches its UK release date

Fujifilm instax SQUARE 2 camera in Slate Blue with the Cool Mood Filter engaged

Fujifilm’s instax SQUARE 2 reaches its advertised UK release date today, 28 October 2026. Announced on 14 October, the new analogue instant camera adds a physical Mood Filter switch to the square-format range.

A colour change before the photograph

The switch places a filter in front of the lens: Warm adds a golden tone, Cool introduces blue tones, and Off leaves the standard film look. Unlike a phone filter applied afterwards, the choice is made before exposing the film.

Twisting the lens selects Standard, Close-up or the newly added Landscape mode. Automatic exposure and flash keep operation simple; a small front mirror helps frame selfies. It uses instax SQUARE film, sold separately, and four AA batteries. Colour options are Slate Blue, Misty White and Brick Red.

For a portrait day at our London photography hire studio, it could provide physical cast-and-crew keepsakes alongside the main shoot—not a replacement for the production camera. Cineview has not tested or confirmed stocking this model.

UK release and buying information

The official UK product page states availability from 28 October. That is the manufacturer’s release date, not a guarantee that every colour is ready for immediate dispatch. At our 28 October check, the official Fujifilm UK shop listed it from £94.99 and showed the product as in stock. Confirm the selected colour and delivery estimate before ordering. The dated announcement also introduces Soft Haze SQUARE film, with a softer, lower-contrast look described by Fujifilm.
